Wine Review–Abrazo Syrah 2007

Abrazo Syrah 2007
Other words on the label:  Del Toro

At last I have found it: a Spanish wine that I despise.  I could not finish half a glass of this very puckery and bitter syrah.  I honestly thought it smelled of kitty litter and the taste was not much better.  There was a slight hint of raisin but that’s all the fruit I could make out.  Don’t drink it unless you like a challenge.

Sorry you didn’t like it. I just finished a bottle of this a few weeks ago and found your review looking for more. I’m not a wine snob but I found it very mellow and comforting and not at all bitter.
Maybe you got a bad bottle. Or maybe it just needed more time to age, since my bottle was about 2 years older than yours.

Thanks for the comment, Dan! The difference in age could definitely be a huge factor on our differing opinions. Perhaps I’ll have to give Abrazo another try sometime! Mellow and comforting sounds great.
